I am a freelance journalist and researcher. I began my career working on magazines and newspapers, moved to independent local radio and television, and later worked for BBC TV News (including Newsnight and News Review ) and for ITN (mainly on News At One ). I also worked as a bulletin writer for CNN in Washington DC.
I have been a writer, researcher, reporter and newsreader; have contributed to magazines and newspapers; and helped with research on books and television programmes.
During my marriage to the investigative journalist Michael Crick, now the Political Editor of Newsnight, I helped research his best-selling biography of Jeffrey Archer, Stranger Than Fiction, as well as other biographies. Later on, I wrote my own book, an "unofficial" biography of Mary Archer called For Richer For Poorer.
I live in Oxford and am divorced, with one daughter who is an art student. My hobbies include music, films, swimming, rowing, watching cricket - and internet dating!
